STUDENT PROGRAM |
|
The Reactor Physics Division of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) encourages student participation in the PHYSOR-2004 conference. Student registration is provided at the discounted rate of $50. Additionally, students willing to assist with various tasks during the conference will be compensated with reduced lodging in the conference hotel, the Hyatt Regency. Any student who assists for approximately 3 hours in a given day, will receive that night's lodging for $15. Examples of the tasks requiring assistance include:
The student will be asked to share a room with two other students.
It is anticipated that at least 75 slots (student nights) for hotel accommodations will be available. These will be handled on a first come, first served basis, but consideration will be given to distributing the slots to each university. Students are encouraged to apply by contacting the Student Coordinator, Justin Thomas, a PhD student at Purdue University. His e-mail address is thomasjw@purdue.edu.
Students should indicate the specific days they would be willing to work and, as a commitment, deposit their portion of the nights' lodging in advance.
In addition, there will be a Best Student Paper award given at the conference. If you are a student presenting a paper and wish to be considered for this award, please contact Justin Thomas. |
