HOTEL & TRANSPORTATION

Conference Hotel

The PHYSOR-2004 meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Chicago.  The Hyatt is located at 151 East Wacker Drive, near the lakefront and just north of the heart of the Chicago business district (the "loop").  Many restaurants and other entertainment attractions are within walking distance of the hotel, or you can use public transportation or taxi service.

Reservations made before March 26, 2004 are guaranteed a special meeting room rate of $174 (U.S.) per night (single- or double-occupancy), plus applicable taxes.  After March 26, reservations for special-rate rooms will be accepted on an "as available" basis.  When making your reservation, indicate that you are attending the PHYSOR-2004 meeting to receive the special meeting rate.

You may make hotel reservations on-line by going to the Hyatt Regency PHYSOR-2004 Reservations page.  (Note: If you access the Rates/Reservations page from the Hyatt Regency home page, you will not be able to reserve a room at the meeting rate.  You must use the link above.)

Reservations can also be made by calling the Hyatt Reservation Desk at 312/565-1234 or 800/233-1234.  When calling the reservation desk, be sure to mention that you are attending the American Nuclear Society topical meeting PHYSOR-2004.

If you prefer to make your reservation by mail or fax, you can complete a printable reservation form and return it to the Hyatt (do not send this form to PHYSOR-2004 staff).  Instructions for mail or fax response are available on the form.

Transportation Options

Chicago is served by both O'Hare International (ORD) and Midway (MDW) Airports, with domestic and international flights offered by many carriers.  From either airport, rental car, limousine, shuttle service, taxi, or public transportation can be used to reach the Hyatt, and other downtown destinations.

Personal or Rental Car

The Hyatt Regency Chicago is located at 151 E. Wacker Dr., between Michigan Avenue and Columbus Dr.  A map with driving directions from both airports is available here.

Valet parking at the Hyatt Regency is available.  Overnight parking with in/out privileges is $35;  daytime parking is $16 (out by 7 p.m.).  Self-parking lots are also located near the hotel.

Shuttle Service

Continental Airport Express provides shuttle service for guests of the Hyatt Regency Chicago.  The shuttle may be picked up curbside, near the baggage claim area, at both O'Hare and Midway Airports.  Vans depart every 10-15 minutes from both airports.  Please note that the shuttle will stop at other hotels en route to and from the airport.  Return shuttles may be picked up from the West Tower Lobby of the Hyatt.

The O'Hare shuttle departs at five and thirty-five minutes after the hour, beginning at 5:05 a.m. and ending at 10:35 p.m.  The cost from/to O'Hare is $21 per person one way, and $39 per person round trip.

The Midway shuttle departs at fifteen and forty-five minutes after every hour, beginning at 5:15 a.m. and ending at 10:45 p.m.  The cost from/to Midway is $16 per person one way, and $30 per person round trip.

Go here to access more details about shuttles from and to O'Hare.  To learn more information about shuttles from and to Midway, go here.  Reservations for the hotel-bound shuttle are not required, but can be made for your convenience on the Airport Express website or by calling 888/2THEVAN.  A printable $2-off coupon is currently available on the Airport Express website.

Taxi Cabs

If you wish to take a cap from the airport, estimate $30 to or from O'Hare, and $20 to or from Midway.  Cab lines may be found curbside outside the baggage claim areas of each airport.  A "shared cab" service is available to major downtown hotels.

The East and West Tower Doormen at the Hyatt Regency will be happy to secure a cab for your return trip to either airport, or to any other destination.
